We had the deck to chill on
The special bedroom retreat
It was a photographer’s paradise, and we could have spent a week taking photos.
So we chilled on the deck
The kitchen doubled as a writer’s paradise
It was pancakes for breakfast
And coffee
John was no help in the kitchen, but was happy for a photo to give a different impression

The drive to this place was an exciting a adventure in itself
Then it was time to explore Calistoga
There were things for the girls
And John could get his bike fix
One or two wine shops
Some inspiration for Rel
There were reassuring signs
Educational signs
Then it was time for a quick bite
John and Jen only spoke via Facebook now.
We visited a pretty cool winery
Jen seemed to enjoy herself here
Plenty of great things to take photos of
We then explored St Clements winery
It was a happening place
Well stocked
Jen was all class
John displayed no class after sampling too much wine
and was sent to the naughty corner
A highlight for the girls was a visit to this amazing place
Ange and Jen literally sprinted to this place
Rel was excited
The girls were very very happy to buy here
Hadn’t seen Rel this excited for a while ;-)
John made some new friends
And then we were off to have massages at Indian Springs resort. Followed by a rest by the pond, and a relaxing swim in a heated pool. All very civilised.
Back home it was time to put that inspiration into practice
And enjoy a divine night with friends
We drank some wine that our gracious host left us
And then some very yummy dessert
Then we did something we had not done in ages. Watch TV, and wear a hoody at the same time.
