Saturday - Copenhagen

An easy start to the day with a buffet breakfast at the hotel.
Then we caught a bus ready for the day’s exploring. We were so entranced by the sights we forgot to get off. Found ourselves in some suburb somewhere. So we just found another bus and headed back.

We then joined a boat cruise. Great way to see the city.

We found a very famous canal/street in Copenhagen, and decided to stay for lunch.
It was awesome. Great food, and they even had a bottle of red! Beer is the real home brew, and it is cheap. But we are not real big beer fans, and we’d had a beer the day before. We were told we would get a ‘house red’. Turns out it was from a fave winery that we visited in France. Narelle couldn’t wipe the smile off her face.
It was the lunch one dreams of, but rarely has happen.
Awesome food, great wine, great company, great venue, great atmosphere, and no real time limit. (Lunch was over sometime after 3)

Then there was the bill. Danish currency is their Kroner. Currently 5 Kroners equate to one AUD. John was initially a little stunned when he got the bill. He thought it said 4100 Kroner. He knew the wine was good, but started to panic about what he was being charged for it. Until he realised the last 0 was really a decimal point thing, and the price was actually quite reasonable.

We also had a great chat to the people at the table next to us. Although this is probably where 2 versions of events are available. John just thought he was being friendly and wanted to find out some local information when he initiated the conversation. Narelle was a bit stunned with how easily John chatted up the young and good looking Swedish woman. Not that John had really noticed this.

After lunch we wandered off on our own walking tour. Copenhagen has free bikes for use, but we could never find where you get them from. All the bays were empty. We did find one, but there was only one... Tomorrow we will endeavour to be more successful.

We dropped into to see where Princess Mary lives, or will live, and the church in which she was married.
Then we dropped into a nice park, where locals were playing all manner of interesting games. Almost like croquet.

Then back home for a long nap.

After we finally awoke, it was time for a walk around town.
