Given everything else we wanted to do, the phase of the moon, and most importantly, what was still available on our 2-for-1 coupon, we chose a flight over the Grand Canyon.
The shuttle bus collected us from our hotel, drove out to Boulder City airport, and awaited our flight.
The flight would take about an hour, and we got to see Hoover dam, the Colorado river, and some amazing parts of the Grand Canyon.
Check-in for the flight was a detailed affair, here we got weighed, and filled out lots of forms.
We were then assigned our seats based on our weight and family groupings.
It was a cute plane with seating for up to 10.
Our fellow passengers - no idea who they are, but translations were required in English, Spanish and German.
And we were excited …

To say we were impressed was an understatement. Some people advised me that seeing it from the air was the best way to get an appreciation for the sheer grandeur of the Grand Canyon. Not that I have any reference point, but I would recommend seeing it from the air.
I’ll let a couple of our photos of Hoover Dam, the Colorado River and Grand Canyon speak for themselves

Rel got a little bored with the commentary, so decided to have her own music

Then it was time to land
and our amazing journey was over.
Next time we come back, we’ll do it via helicopter
We jumped on the shuttle to get us back home. Turned out to be an entertaining trip as we saw a coyote running wild through the desert. And we got a bit of a free tour of the car parks / drop off zones of some the other hotels/resorts we had not seen before.
For a 1 hour flight, we left home at 2, flight at 3.30, back to hotel by 6, and just enough time to get ready for our dinner at the Eiffel Tower. Another full on day...
